Please click on Video 1 to see the opening address by Prof Meihana Durie and keynote by Prof Jason Mika, and Video 2 to see the Plenary Panel respond, in terms of their specific expertise, of how we could have more sustainable economies, transport systems, viticulture, and human wellbeing, to the provocation ‘Let’s ask Nature’.

Event 2: Two day Hui in early September, 2025
This event is being planned with our partners – Rangitāne o Manawatū, FoodHQ, Environment Network Manawatū and Palmerston North City Council. We envisage a focus on sustainable food systems, rural and urban development, and responsible production and consumption. Our event will be geared towards businesses moving in a sustainable direction, policy makers and practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds, as well as scholars, community organisations and youths. Understanding what we can learn from Indigenous peoples, especially from mātauranga Māori, will be a central theme of this event.
